EduGig was founded in 2016 by an educator like you who has a passion for this work, but who also loves finding new ways to create supplemental income and expand her reach to others.
Stephanie started out her career as an art educator who also had a background in graphic design. Her work in the public education sector spans everything from classroom teaching to campus leadership and district-level leadership.
Her various “side-gigs” over the years have included all of the following:
- Virtual teaching (for multiple schools)
- Consulting (at the national level as well as local)
- Product development
- Writing (including two books and book chapters)
- Selling original artwork online
- Selling original educational products and lesson plans online
- Selling apparel, accessories, and more (self-designed)
- Working with edtech startups as a consultant and founding partner
- Helping to design and launch an innovative small school
- Launching EduGig to help others learn how to do all of this too!
While many of those “gigs” truly were side-gigs, at one point Stephanie was able to assemble several of these “gigs” into the equivalent of a full-time income while working 100% from home with a VERY flexible schedule. This was SO helpful when the kids were young!
Why EduGig?
There are a number of blog posts online that provide teachers with lists of side-gigs and summer jobs, but none of those blog posts provide the practical information that teachers need to get started with those endeavors.
EduGig seeks to fill that gap by developing a wide array of very helpful how-to guides and other resources to help teachers explore the wide variety of options that are available and help them determine which of these is the best fit for them.
And yes, for Stephanie, this is one more of her side gigs!
